Kristin Stelzer, M.S., LPC-Associate
Supervised by Jeffrey Gallup, M.A., LPC-S, NCC, CFMHE
Kristin is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate who earned her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Tarleton State University and obtained licensure in 2023. She practices under the supervision of Jeffrey Gallup, LPC-S, and brings a culturally responsive, developmentally informed perspective to her clinical work.
Kristin approaches therapy from a client-centered, cognitive-behavioral framework, prioritizing collaboration, respect, and emotional safety. She is intentional about creating a counseling environment in which clients—whether children, adolescents, or adults—feel fully accepted and understood. Her goal is to build a strong therapeutic alliance that supports meaningful progress toward individualized treatment goals. She balances warmth and empathy with structured interventions that help clients identify patterns, build coping strategies, and move toward lasting change.
Before joining Mansfield Counseling, Kristin gained substantial experience in animal-assisted therapy, equine-assisted therapy, and child-centered play therapy. These modalities strengthened her ability to engage younger clients in developmentally appropriate ways while remaining grounded in evidence-based practice. Her broader clinical background includes work with anxiety and depressive disorders, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, and adjustment-related challenges. She is particularly passionate about supporting women’s mental health, including maternal mental health and infertility-related stressors. Kristin has completed specialized training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and is committed to providing informed, compassionate care during the perinatal period and beyond.
Outside of her professional work, Kristin enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending Rangers baseball games, playing trivia, going to stand-up comedy shows, discovering new music, and baking. Each year, she and her husband and son prioritize traveling to one new destination together.
Kristin is a member of the Texas Counseling Association and the Dallas Metro Counseling Association.
