Heather Christ MA LPC

Heather is a Licensed Professional Counselor who brings both clinical expertise and seasoned life experience to her work with children, adolescents, and families. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, where she developed a strong foundation in multicultural counseling and culturally responsive care. She has also completed a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology and Research at Capella University, strengthening her evidence-based orientation and clinical assessment skills. Heather first trained at Mansfield Counseling as an intern under the supervision of Jeff Gallup, where she refined her clinical voice and developed a structured, developmentally attuned approach to therapy.

Heather is especially passionate about working with children and teens and is continuing to expand her focus in trauma-informed care. She integrates EMDR alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and play-based interventions to meet clients at their developmental level while maintaining therapeutic structure and forward momentum. Her style is nurturing, calm, and steady—providing young clients with emotional safety while also offering parents clear guidance and practical tools. She has experience supporting clients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, learning disabilities, and related concerns, and she is attentive to how emotional, academic, and family systems intersect.

What further distinguishes Heather’s work is the depth of perspective she brings as a mother. Her lived experience, combined with professional training, allows her to approach parenting challenges with empathy, realism, and respect. Families often appreciate her ability to balance warmth with structure—creating a therapeutic environment where children feel heard and parents feel supported and empowered.

Heather strives to create a space where clients of all ages feel safe, understood, and capable of meaningful change. She believes that healing occurs through steady, intentional work and that every child and family deserves both compassion and clear direction as they move forward.

Outside of her clinical work, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, attending sporting events, and going to concerts. She and her husband are avid baseball fans and often travel to see their favorite bands perform.
